Private PDF splitting
PDF too large?
Make it fit.
Split PDFs by maximum file size, not guesswork. Your document stays on your device and every page keeps its original quality.
Browser tool
Make it fit.
Choose your limit. SizeSplit finds the fewest practical parts and checks every output before download.
⌁ Your PDF never leaves this device.
Processing happens inside your browser. We never receive the file.
Pages are copied directly—no screenshots, recompression or blur.
Each output is reopened and its real file size is checked.
Built for awkward documents
Not another
upload box.
Most PDF tools ask for page ranges. SizeSplit works backwards from the limit you actually need—for an AI tool, email, portal or DMS.
The free browser version accepts PDFs up to 50 MB. A one-time Large File Pass unlocks browser files up to 100 MB for 24 hours. Larger files are not supported yet, and requests will determine what gets built next.
Over 100 MB?
Not supported.
Not ignored.
SizeSplit does not currently process PDFs over 100 MB, and we will never charge you for a file the browser tool cannot handle. Tell us the size and what you need to do with it. Real requests will decide whether a desktop large-file edition is worth building.

PDF feature support
Know before
you split.
Splitting changes a document's structure even when the visible pages are copied unchanged. Keep the original and check important outputs.
Pages are copied directly without rasterising.
Scanned page images are copied at their original quality.
Usually copied with their page, but interactive behaviour can vary.
Destinations outside a part may break; document outlines may not carry across.
Use a specialist PDF tool if these are business-critical.
Any structural change normally invalidates the original signature.
Remove the password in your PDF application before splitting.
The tool stops rather than knowingly produce unreliable parts.
That page is supplied alone and clearly marked as over the target.
Straight answers
Questions,
answered.
Does my PDF get uploaded?
No. The browser tool reads and creates files on your device. The site records only anonymous event names such as “split succeeded”, never your PDF, filename, page count or target size.
Why is the free limit 50 MB?
Browsers and devices have very different memory limits. The first 50 MB is free and a Large File Pass extends access to 100 MB. This is not a claim that every 100 MB PDF will work on every phone or older computer.
Will every part stay below my chosen limit?
The tool measures the actual saved bytes and only accepts a part that fits. If one individual page is larger than the limit, it cannot be split without changing that page, so it is provided separately and flagged.
What about PDFs over 100 MB?
They are not supported by the browser tool and checkout is not offered for them. Use the large-file request form to tell us the approximate size and your use case. We will only build a desktop edition if real demand justifies it.
Can I use this for a signed or regulated document?
Do not assume a split document retains signatures, tags, bookmarks or legal validity. Keep the original and use an approved specialist workflow when compliance matters.
Which browsers are supported?
Current desktop versions of Chrome and Edge are the initial target. Firefox and Safari may work, but they are not yet part of the launch test matrix.

The important bits
Clear, not hidden.

Privacy
PDFs: browser splitting happens on your device. PDF bytes, filenames, page counts and output files are not sent to SizeSplit or used for AI training.
Basic analytics: we store anonymous event names and timestamps to understand page visits, attempts, successes, failures and ZIP downloads. A short-lived one-way network hash is used only to rate-limit requests.
Feedback: we store the category, message, timestamp and optional email you submit. Do not include confidential document content. Contact details are used only to respond or research your stated need.
Paid access: Stripe handles payment details. SizeSplit stores the checkout email, Stripe customer and payment references, access status, expiry and a one-way browser-access token hash needed to provide access. We do not receive your full card number.
Contact and access: email hello.sizesplitpdf@outlook.com to ask a privacy question or request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information held by SizeSplit, subject to legal retention requirements.
Terms of use
Use the free tool only with documents you are entitled to process. Keep your original file and inspect every output before relying on it.
The tool is provided as-is without a guarantee that every PDF feature, browser or device will work. To the extent permitted by law, SizeSplit is not responsible for loss arising from unverified outputs, interruption or incompatibility.
Do not misuse the service, attempt to disrupt it or submit unlawful content through the feedback form. These terms do not exclude rights that cannot legally be excluded.

Refund policy
The Large File Pass is a one-time purchase for 24 hours of access and does not renew. Because access is supplied immediately, a change of mind does not automatically qualify for a refund.
If payment succeeds but access is not provided, or the tool cannot perform the advertised service after reasonable troubleshooting, email hello.sizesplitpdf@outlook.com within 7 days. We will investigate and provide a refund where the service was not delivered or where required by law.
This policy does not limit rights that cannot be excluded, including applicable rights under New Zealand consumer law.
Open-source licences
The browser splitter uses pdf-lib 1.17.1 for PDF page copying and fflate 0.8.2 for ZIP creation. Both are MIT-licensed and permit commercial use subject to retaining their licence notices.
The launch architecture deliberately does not use PyMuPDF, avoiding its AGPL/commercial dual-licensing decision for this web product.
